Specialty Feeds
Pennfield Specialty Feeds are designed to meet the demands of horses with specific nutritional needs. Pennfield SuperFlake® grains play a key role in the nutrient profiles of the majority of these feeds, offering a more bioavailable source of energy-dense, highly digestible starch. The calorie-rich formulations are boosted by the addition of shredded beet pulp and vegetable-based oils, allowing smaller amounts of these concentrates to be fed, which in turn minimizes the many problems that can arise with big concentrate meals.
All Specialty Feeds feature proprietary KER micronutrient fortification, which includes preferential forms of specific nutrients such as natural vitamin E, organic selenium and chelated trace minerals, as well as added yeast cultures for superior digestive health and improved nutrient digestibility.
Fibregized - A high-fat textured feed low in non-structural carbohydrates. This unique grain-free beet pulp-rich feed is digested in the hindgut where nature intended, unlike most grain-based feeds which are digested in the foregut. This feed is so unusual, it’s known as “miracle in a bag” by the many pleased owners who’ve seen their horses “fixed” by Fibregized. Its caloric and nutrient profile is also optimal for horses engaged in a variety of disciplines, including those that require significant stamina.
Fibregized Omega - all the benefits of Fibregized, with additional fat sources from soybean oil, stabilized rice bran and flax meal, all excellent sources of omega fatty acids known to aid the health of many systems in the body.
Cool ‘n’ Lite - Textured feed that supplies essential vitamins and minerals to easy keepers or horses that become difficult to manage on starch-laden feeds. Cool ‘n’ Lite is also perfect for ponies and Miniature horses.
Equinox Sales Prep – A high-fat textured feed ideal for sales prepping, weight gain, and bloom, it’s also appropriate for horses competing in any discipline.
