Racing Feeds

Pennfield Racing Feeds are formulated to meet the incredible energy needs of racehorses in all stages of training. A variety of energy sources are contained in these feeds… some rely on traditional starch-laden grains such as the highest quality SuperFlake® oats, barley, and corn. Others use rich fat and fiber sources to provide energy, with beet pulp and soybean oils used to increase caloric density and reduce the risk of digestive problems such as hindgut acidosis.

All Racing Feeds feature proprietary KER micronutrient fortification, which includes preferential forms of specific nutrients such as natural vitamin E, organic selenium and chelated trace minerals, as well as added yeast cultures for superior digestive health and improved nutrient digestibility.

Eclipse - Energy-rich textured feed complete with antioxidants and super fibers, delivering an approximately equal proportion of calories from non-structural carbohydrates and from combined fat and fiber sources. Eclipse features premium SuperFlake® barley and oats, a moderate amount of fermentable fiber (beet pulp & soy hulls) and a moderate amount of fat to provide a high quality feed for training and racing both sprinters and middle-distance horses.

Replete - Fully fortified beet pulp-based textured feed low in non-structural carbohydrates and high in fat. Replete is appropriate for all racehorses, but is particularly suited for horses racing over longer distances, and for those suffering from excitability, breathing or digestive problems.

Enhance - A more traditional formula that relies less on super fibers and offers highly digestible sources of calories from premium premium SuperFlake® corn, barley and oats. Enhance is a fully fortified textured feed appropriate for racehorses in all phases of training, and is ideal for horses requiring rapidly available energy.

Fibregized - A high-fat textured feed low in non-structural carbohydrates. This unique grain-free beet pulp-rich feed is digested in the hindgut where nature intended, unlike most grain-based feeds which are digested in the foregut. This feed is so unusual, it’s known as “miracle in a bag” by the many pleased owners who’ve seen their horses “fixed” by Fibregized. Ideal to help prevent excess nervousness and hindgut acidosis, its caloric and nutrient profile is also excellent for racing, including longer distances.
