Phase Feeds
From foalhood to retirement, there is a Phase Feed designed for each lifestage of horse. Built on a base of the Pennfield exclusive SuperFlake® grains, Phase Feeds have sources of highly digestible starch that provide moderate caloric value. Every Phase Feed features proprietary KER micronutrient fortification, which includes preferential forms of specific nutrients such as natural vitamin E, organic selenium and chelated trace minerals, as well as added yeast cultures for superior digestive health and improved nutrient digestibility.

Phase I - Foal’s Choice - This oat- and barley-based textured feed features high quality protein, amino acids, and the correct amounts and proportions of trace and macro minerals vital for sound growth and development of foals.
Phase II – Broodmare & Yearling’s Choice – two varieties: pelleted or textured – A properly fortified feed for all aspects of growth and reproduction, Phase II is designed to reduce the risk of nutrition-induced developmental orthopedic disease in weanlings and yearlings.
Phase III – Performance Choice – three varieties: pelleted, textured, or textured with corn – Ideal for equine athletes with moderate caloric needs, Phase III is offered in three varieties to give you a choice of protein, starch concentration, and energy sources to best fit your horses’ needs.
Phase IV – Pleasure Choice - This reduced-calorie textured feed is ideal for mature horses at maintenance or in light work.
Phase V – Senior’s Choice – two varieties: pelleted or textured – For the senior horse, Phase V offers two options, both featuring increased nutrient concentration in order to offset reduced digestive efficiency often found in geriatric horses. The original Senior’s Choice is a moderate-calorie pellet that can easily be fed as a mash when poor teeth are an issue. Senior’s Energized Choice is a high-calorie, high-fat textured feed designed to meet the energy and nutrient needs of hard keepers with good dentition.
All-Phase – A fortification pellet or “ration balancer” that meets the vitamin and mineral requirements of easy keepers. All-Phase can also be used to enrich concentrate meals consisting entirely of unfortified cereal grains such as oats.
